Equal parts exciting and uncomfortable

A thoroughly enjoyable read that plunges you into the improbable quest of a man equal parts adventurer, con artist and lunatic. I suspect most great adventures have a grimmer day to day reality... But after reading this story I believe Ben Carlin takes the cake. Well researched, enticingly written.

Incredible Story! Fun read.

I love adventures, especially ones that have to do with adventures on the sea. This farfetched story is full of surprises, sad and funny at the same time, and amazingly true. What drives some people to embrace the impossible, give up everything to pursue it, and actually succeed makes for a great, quick read. I highly recommend this book.

The author got his hands on a terrific story, and from the very first sentence I was hooked. What starts as a remarkable adventure story soon spins out into something even more amazing. I recommend!
